As Co-Founder and Artistic Director of Lune 1860 and Creative Director of Sephora Canada, she has spent years shaping brands through a lens of creativity, intuition, and restraint. We spoke with Lisa about the changing language of beauty, the fascination with optimization, the art of editing, and why the best wardrobes—and creative ideas—often come from having less, not more.

What makes a piece of creative truly stand out?

It’s hard to define without context—who it’s for and where it lives matter. I’m drawn to work that subtly recontextualizes the familiar, creating just enough tension to make you look again. It’s the kind of work that doesn’t explain itself, but opens something up.

What’s changing in the way beauty is being communicated?

Something that genuinely interests me is how beauty, health, and wellness have become completely intertwined. So much of what’s coded as health is really about aesthetics. Young people are working out, cutting out alcohol, tracking everything—and that’s a real shift. But I think a lot of it is still driven by wanting to look good, which isn’t a bad thing; it’s just honest. I wouldn’t say everyone grinding at the gym five days a week is doing it for their cardiovascular health. Beauty is the same drive it’s always been—it’s just wearing different clothes now.

What genuinely feels worth paying attention to in beauty right now?

Biohacking genuinely fascinates me. It’s framed as science and optimization, but I think a lot of it is really about control and appearance. I don’t think everyone doing cold plunges at 5 a.m. is doing it purely for longevity. There’s an image attached to it—discipline, control, a certain kind of body and lifestyle. The aesthetic is as carefully constructed as any beauty campaign. It’s all incredibly visual. It’s beauty and status wearing a lab coat.

What makes getting dressed feel easy, but still considered?

Something I’ve come to genuinely believe is that getting dressed feels easier the less you have to choose from. Not in a boring way, but in a curated way. When everything in your wardrobe already works, the decision is almost made for you. It’s not about having less style; it’s about having less noise. Edit, edit again, and edit one more time.
